// The Dark Knight Rises//

Christopher Nolan has reinvented the summer blockbuster as well as reinvigorated the dying Batman franchise.  He changed what would be just other comic book movies into genuinely intelligent cinema, as well as pushing the boundaries of the IMAX film format and filmmaking in general.

A couple weeks ago, the teaser poster for the final chapter of the Dark Knight trilogy was released.  If you haven’t caught it yet, here it is.

 I’m sure, as half the world has seen the final Harry Potter film by now, that most of you have this, but for those of us who haven’t gotten to the theaters, we have to watch it online.  So here it is, the teaser trailer for the final entry in the Dark Knight trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises. [via The Film Stage]

I’ve already watched it close to 10 times.  The last shot that shows Batman looking battered with Bane hulking up to him…holy cow.  This film can not come soon enough.  Any theories as to the plotline or how Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman will tie in?

// Tim Burton Exhibition//

Tim Burton’s exhibition at LACMA is getting so much love on the internet these days - that I thought I would jump on board.

One of the few times I’ve actually enjoyed going through a Hot Topic -  I stumbled onto one of Tim Burton’s poetry books. If you’ve never read one of his poems - it’s pretty dark and morbid - really what you’d expect from the creator of Jack the Pumpkin King, but it’s so creative. His personal drawings that go with it are equally weird and crazy, but that’s the reason we love Tim Burton right? Because of his dark side.

Even though I can’t actually go to Tim Burton’s exhibition at LACMA (maybe I will, because we have a couple days off tour there, who knows) - I still love these pictures from Fubiz. You get to see more of Tim Burton’s darker and lighter sides.  I skipped a couple of them, because there are one’s I honestly didn’t like…or just didn’t get, but if you want to enjoy all of them click through the link to Fubiz.
